Nel 1998 avviene il suo esordio nel mondo della musica con il singolo "Kōfukuron" ("Happiness Theory") per la TOSHIBA-EMI. Nel 1999 realizza il suo primo album, "Muzai Moratorium" (Innocence Moratorium) e nel 2000 il secondo disco, "Shōso Strip"(Lawsuit Winning Strip). Dopo aver dato alla luce il suo primogenito dal matrimonio con il chitarrista Junji Yayoshi, Ringo torna nel 2002 con un doppio album di cover cantate in varie lingue, "Utaite Myōri" (Singer's Luck). Dopo il divorzio con il marito, nel 2003 pubblica il suo quarto disco solista, "Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana" e il suo ultimo singolo, "Ringo no Uta" ("Apple's Song").
